Our Starlink SMEs received a service request for Starlink and wireless network Installation in Centreville, AL. Our team provided a professional service by performing the following steps:
Our team of Starlink Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) performed initial offsite assessment. This preliminary analysis focused on evaluating key aspects of the residential property. It includes the structural orientation, type and pitch of the roof, surrounding tree lines, nearby structures, and other potential obstructions that could interfere with signal reception. By gaining a clear understanding of the site conditions in advance, our team were able to pre-select the most suitable mounting hardware, installation equipment, and cable routing plans and manpower needed.
The customer wanted that Starlink connectivity to covers the barn. The barn is about 150 to 200 ft away from the main house. It has an existing pole mount that can used for Starlink installation. To further assess the technical details, a site visit survey was done to determine potentially the P2P set-up and hardwiring plan
Following the site visit assessment, several findings and recommendations were proposed:
🔹To extend internet coverage to the office space and barn, we will install point-to-point devices, ensuring reliable connectivity in both areas.
🔹Running approximately 150 to 200 feet of CAT6 cable.
🔹The cable to the barn may require weatherproofing to protect it from the outdoor elements.
The customer approved the installation plan and then coordinated the installation schedule with our certified Starlink installers in Centreville, AL.
Our team arrived onsite as scheduled to perform the following scope of work:
🔹 Installation was originally planned for the existing pole mount; however, the customer requested a change to a roof mount.
🔹 Run the cable through the crawlspace and up to the cabinet, placing the router there for optimal performance.
🔹 Activate and configure Gen3 WiFi Mesh router settings.
🔹 Provide Starlink App walkthrough and usage guidance to the customer.
🔹 Perform alignment and performance testing.
The Starlink installer performed the Starlink obstruction test to verify optimal dish placement where the customer decided to have the dish be installed in the roof instead on the existing pole location.

Route the cable through the crawlspace and extend it up to the designated cabinet location where the Gen3 router is located. Positioning the router within this centralized and elevated cabinet ensures optimal signal distribution throughout the home. Configured the Gen3 WiFI router with SSID and password with the customer’s Starlink account.

The customer was given a walkthrough on how to use the Starlink app.
After installing the Starlink system, a Starlink alignment test was performed to assess the precise positioning of the dish to the satellite network.

Then, the Starlink speed test was conducted to test the system’s internet performance. It’s important to note that Starlink can take up to 12 hours to synchronize with the satellite network fully.
