Project Overview

1. Pre-Installation Assessment and Planning

Our Starlink Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) performed initial offsite assessment to determine the property structure and site conditions. A site survey was recommended to identify the following:

🔹Identify the best installation spot for the Starlink Dish, ensuring a clear line of sight to the sky for the strongest signal.
🔹Locate the cable entry point and determine where the cable will terminate inside.
🔹Determine the optimal location for the router and the need for WiFi mesh system.

After the site survey, a detailed installation proposal was sent to the customer for review and approval. Once approved and the necessary equipment was onsite, the installation schedule was coordinated with our professional Starlink installers in Evansville, IN.

2. Onsite Installation in Evansville, IN

The Starlink installation in Spencerville, IN was executed by performing a Starlink obstruction test, as shown in the image below. The results confirmed that the selected installation point offers a ‘good experience,’ ensuring Starlink reliable connectivity for streaming, web browsing, video calls and online gaming.

The Starlink installation team securely mounted the Starlink dish on the rooftop using non-penetrating roof mount stabilized with cinder blocks. 

They routed the Starlink cable from roof to the existing cable path to the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi mesh router. The Starlink cable was connected to the router, which was then powered on and activated. Configured the router with unique SSID and password to establish a personalized and secure WiFi connection.

To expand WiFi coverage to the second floor and outdoor areas, they installed two eero mesh systems.

Then, the customer was provided with a walkthrough on how to manage the Starlink internet through Starlink app.

3. Starlink Performance Testing

Following the Starlink dish installation, the team carried out the alignment test to fine-tune the positioning of the dish. This procedure validated that the dish has an unobstructed line of sight to the Starlink satellite network, which is critical for maintaining strong signal.

Then, the Starlink speed test was done twenty minutes after installation to verify the Starlink internet performance through the metrics of download speed, upload speed and latency. After several hours of the post-installation, we asked the customer to perform another speed test. It gives us impressive result as shown in the image below. 

It is important to note that Starlink may takes upto 12 hours after installation to achieve optimal speeds.
