Our Starlink installation SMEs kick-off the processing of the service request by performing the following:
Our Starlink subject matter experts (SMEs) conducted an initial offsite assessment to gather the customer’s requirements for the Starlink installation. By utilizing satellite imagery and customer-provided onsite photos, the team identified the optimal mounting solution, cable routing and equipment and tools needed for efficient Starlink installation.
Following this assessment, the SMEs prepared and submitted an installation proposal for the customer’s review and approval. Once approved and the equipment was confirmed onsite, our team coordinated the installation schedule with our Starlink installers in Cordova, TN.
The Starlink installation in Cordova, TN began with an obstructions test to evaluate the site’s sky visibility. The property was surrounded by tall trees, which were scanned using the Starlink mobile app’s camera feature. To mitigate potential signal interference, the team identified the highest point of the roof where the trees would not obstruct the Starlink dish’s line of sight to the satellite.
The installation team mounted the Starlink dish using a ridge mount system secured with weighted blocks. This approach provided a stable, non-penetrating setup, eliminating the need to drill into the roof structure. The team positioned the ridge mount along the roof peak to maximize sky visibility and minimize potential signal obstruction from nearby trees.
They routed the Starlink cable from the dish to the exterior wall, running it through the roof’s attic and terminating it at the designated indoor location for the Gen 3 router. After connecting the cable to the router, the team activated and configured the Starlink system. During configuration, they assigned a custom SSID and a secure password to establish the wireless network, ensuring full functionality and strong security for end users.
The customer was guided on how to manage the Starlink system through Starlink App.
Following the Starlink dish installation, the team carried out the alignment test to fine-tune the positioning of the dish. This procedure validates that the dish has an unobstructed line of sight to the Starlink satellite network, which is critical for maintaining strong signal. Then, the installation team conducted the Starlink speed test using the customer’s device to verify the Starlink connectivity performance, as shown in the image below.
The Starlink connection at this residential office delivers enterprise-grade internet performance, offering high-speed downloads, good upload capacity and low latency. This dependable connectivity enables smooth and uninterrupted business operations, including:
๐นRemote work and teleconferencing with stable, high-quality communication
๐นCloud-based applications and data synchronization for real-time collaboration
๐นDigital media streaming and customer-facing online services
๐นSmart building systems and IoT device integration for enhanced operational efficiency
It’s important to note that Starlink may require up to 12 hours to fully optimize its connection. During this initial period, temporary speed fluctuations or brief dropouts may occur. However, once the system stabilizes, it delivers a reliable and high-speed internet connection.
